The main approaches include the following: the theory of interest groups, the theory of public choice, the theory of resource dependence, the principal-agent theory and the neoinstitutional approach. The features, main directions and measures of state support for metallurgical enterprises in Russia are studied in detail. In addition, the paper identifies the current issues of state support for metallurgical enterprises, and also identifies the prospects for expanding support. In this regard, it is highlighted that the basic solution to the problems should be concentrated on streamlining the legal framework, on developing strategies for the development of industry and on the implementation of a transparent policy both by the state and metallurgical enterprises.
