Administrative and Legal Regulation of Mass Media Activities

It is impossible to imagine a modern information society without mass media. Thus, the mass media becomes one of the main tools of social regulation, which does not always have positive consequences. Due to these circumstances, such an influential institution requires legal regulation and a system of agencies that will control this area. This study aims to provide an overview of the specifics of the legal regulation of mass media in scope of methods of administrative and legal regulation. The research is divided into two main parts. In the first part, the study examines the mass media's legal characteristics and classifications. The second part of the study is devoted to administrative law. Systematization of main subjects of administrative and legal regulation is included in the second chapter. Further, the registration and authorization methods, incentive measures and administrative enforcement measures are analyzed. The overall outcome of this study is to provide information on current trends in administrative and legal mechanisms in the field of mass media, the advantages and disadvantages of the existing system, and proposals for its reform.
