The history of photography pays very little attention to such a way of creating an image like cyanotype, the history of modern art does not mention it at all. For general audience, it is more likely associated with blueprints, copies of documents, photograms of plants and children's kits for making prints at home. However, many artists refer to this technique in their works and perceive it not only as one of the photographic processes, but also as a full-scale artistic practice. The main purpose of this study was to show that the history of cyanotype is an essential part of the history of photography that should be learned and discussed during art history lectures.
