Preferences in The Design of Residential Interiors for People with Different Types of Temperament

The world is very changeable and unstable, and in order to adapt to it, you must always be in motion, develop and quickly adapt to rapidly changing conditions. A person experiencing these changes needs an environment that will contribute to his inner comfort. Interior design has a great impact on the emotional state and health of a person, therefore it is necessary to create a living space that will give peace of mind, fill it with comfort and harmony. Every person at least once in his life is faced with the repair of housing and at the same time increasingly turns to specialists in this field - to designers. To avoid the client's disappointment, it is necessary to more individually approach the identification of preferences when developing a design project, including based on individual psychological characteristics of the individual, namely, his temperament, due to the fact that it is an innate human property that determines the characteristics human adaptation to the environment. The purpose of this work is to identify preferences in the design of residential interiors among people with different types of temperament. To achieve the goal, the author's method was created to identify preferences in design, combined with the personal questionnaire of Hans Eysenck to determine a person's temperament. The results obtained showed that all temperaments may have similar preference indicators to one degree or another, but at the same time, each type has unique features inherent only to them. The results of the study will form the basis of a methodology for identifying preferences in the design of residential interiors according to a person's temperament, a methodology that interior designers can use to develop design projects.
