The paper deals with the problem of politicisation of Russian avant-garde. The subject in consideration is: the rhetorical parallels between avant-garde manifestations and the language of left-wing radical politics, the application the political forms in the avant-garde art practice, and the direct actions of the movement members in the political sphere. Based on research approaches that associate artistic avant-garde with left-wing politics (for example, the theories of J. Rancière, P. Bürger, B. Groys, and M. Puchner) and sociological optics, the study will demonstrate that aesthetical and political radicalism of the Russian avant-garde culture influence each other in a higher degree than it is conventionally believed.
