Investigation of Factors of Companies' Innovation Activities

This work is devoted to the study of the influence of various factors on the innovation activity of companies. The data used in this work was collected as a part of the research project «Factors of Competitiveness and Growth of Russian Manufacturing Enterprises» implemented in 2018 within a framework of the Basic Research Program at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The database eventually consisted of observations on 534 manufacturing companies, mostly small and medium-sized. As a research method, it was used the construction of a linear regression model. As a result, it was revealed that significant factors for the innovation activity of industrial Russian companies were the age of the company, human capital and the intensity of R&D. Moreover, the greater age of the company negatively affects innovation activity, and the amount of human capital and the intensity of R&D positively. The results of the study are interesting because they reflect the current situation and use a wide range of factors.
