This work examines the survival practices of human rights NGOs in the context of authoritarian trends in modern Russia using the example of St. Petersburg. The theoretical basis of the work is the “problem of social influence”, which analyzes the relationship between the non-profit sector and government bodies. The paper presents an extensive literary and theoretical analysis of the problems faced by modern human rights non-profit organizations, as well as proposals for mechanisms for their solution. The purpose and objectives of the study are presented in the introduction of the work. As an empirical part of the work, an analysis of interviews with leaders and employees of human rights NGOs in St. Petersburg, conducted by me in order to prepare the final qualifying work, is presented. In the conclusion of the work, an analysis of the practices and mechanisms of survival of modern human rights non-profit organizations in the city of St. Petersburg is presented. The work also revealed gaps in the scientific literature regarding several important aspects of the study of the activities of human rights NGOs, including in St. Petersburg.
