Year of Graduation: 2021

Every year numerous students leave their countries of origin to explore a new life, gain experience of life and study a new culture. The process of adapting to an unfamiliar country is inevitable for every student, and the process itself might be challenging since there are various challenges and obstacles which may affect their future living. Previous research on sociocultural adaptation seems to be limited due to the fact that it does not cover the situation that international students find themselves in a while studying in Russia. This paper fills this gap by analysing the social and cultural adaptation of international students living and studying at Russian universities and possible factors affecting their adaptation. All required data from international students is collected through online platforms. As a result, some valuable recommendations are provided in the conclusion.
