With the development of informational technologies and the accelerating digitalization of public relations, the role of information in the stream of commerce is increasing. Moreover, there is a growth in the number of disputes concerning the disclosure of confidential information by employees, which became revealed to them as they performed their labor duties. The relevance of the research topic is explained by the fact that, given the increasing value and volume of information, there is an inherent need for its protection. As applied to labor relations, this need is due to at least three reasons. Firstly, employees are the main entity dealing with information with limited access. Secondly, the scale and scope of unauthorized distribution of confidential information by employees is growing. Finally, the economic costs of fraudulent actions of employees who provide access to confidential information to third parties are very significant. The work presents a comprehensive study of the theoretical, legal and law-enforcement aspects of the regulation, use and protection of confidential information in labor relations. The paper considers the organization of access to such types of confidential information as commercial secrets, personal data, state secrets, and official secrets. The focus of the study is also aimed at the duties and responsibilities of employees for the unlawful disclosure of these types of confidential information. The structure of the research, which was formed in accordance with the goals and objectives of its writing, consists of an Introduction, three Chapters, a Conclusion and a Bibliography.
