Russian autoagression (inner Russophobia) is frequently found in culture, journalism and everyday life, however, no scientific research on this topic has been identified. Thus, conducting research on this topic is relevant. The aim of this study was to detect the presence of and study negative linguistic and identity attitudes among ethnic Russians in the presence of inner Russophobia and social desirability. The main research task included hypothesis testing of Russians having a negative attitude towards their linguistic and national identity. For this purpose, a study was carried out: the collection and subsequent analysis of data based on the materials of an online survey among Russian and Russian-speaking population in Russia, as well as an in-depth interview with a Russian person living abroad.
