This paper is focused on the study of the language conflict in the web-space between purists and those who are in favor of anglicisms in Russia and France. The relevance of the study can be explained by the fact that the process of globalisation has influenced a lot both Russian and French in the way that these languages have quite many loan words from the English language which in this paper are called as anglicisms. We used online questionnaires to understand to what extent anglicisms have influenced Russian and French, what age group uses anglicisms most and etc. Besides, we have studied the nature of language purism and analyzed the commentaries in the web-space in order to understand the attitude of people towards English loan words in their native languages. We came to conclusion that in France language pourism is more vivid and more structured whether than in Russia.
