Today due to the international economic cooperation and the development of technological progress, the interaction between cultures has reached an unprecedented level, however, it can be difficult to reach mutual understanding and come to competent communication between representatives of different cultures. So, this research is aimed at identifying and analyzing the problems of linguocultural adaptation in the field of intercultural holiday discourse. The relevance of the work is due to the fact that for quite a long time there is a struggle between word-for-word and more adapted translation, because of which the translator faces the question of choosing a strategy for localizing the original text to the language of the recipient culture. Moreover, the feast and the holiday discourse are vital parts of any country and its people, which is why this particular topic is covered in this work. The value of the research lies in the fact that its practical content can be very useful in the framework of university lectures and courses devoted to theoretical and practical issues of text translation and its proper interpretation, also this work is a beneficial basis for further research closely related to the topic of cross-cultural communication in the holiday discourse.
