Investment Projects as a Factor of Russian Regions' Development

The economic and social well-being of a country cannot be measured by the development of the economy of just one city or one subject. A sign of a healthy and stable economy is the level of development of regional economies and the share of their contribution to the country's GDP. There is an urgent problem of regional inequality in Russia, which has been unresolved for a long time. One of the options for solving the emerged problem of inequality is to improve the investment climate and increase the volume of investments in the regions, as well as to increase the level of implementation of regional investment projects. The work presents the results of the survey of respondents on the importance of regional development factors, a correlation analysis to determine the interrelated factors of regional development, the clusters depending on the development of the regions were identified and within each cluster a regression analysis was conducted to determine the features of the clusters. The result of the work is a list of developed recommendations applicable to each cluster and aimed at enhancing regional development. The author also identified further research questions.
