Development of the Socio-Cultural Competence of Schoolchildren by Means of a Foreign Language

Modern society strives to educate a person with a humanistic mindset, who can share universal values and interact with representatives of other cultures. Learning a foreign language is one of the ways to develop socio-cultural competence, which implies the ability to present one's native culture in the foreign language being studied. This study is dedicated to compare the image of Russian culture, which is formed by textbooks on the English language in Russia, with the image of Russia, formed by educational and methodological manuals for the study of Russian as a foreign language.
