Contrastive Linguistic Analysis of American and Italian Values (on the Example of the Media)

Student: Aleksandra Pikalova

Supervisor: Elena Lutkova

Faculty: School of Foreign Languages

Educational Programme: Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

Nowadays, there are many works related to the culture of different countries, comparatives of cultures and the study of values and traditions. However, there is little research on the values of Italy, as well as comparing the values of Italy and America. Using content analysis of media data from countries, and then contrastive analysis to investigate the results obtained, Italian values were studied in more detail, and a value comparison between Italy and America was provided. The relevance of the work is due to the lack of such scientific research, as well as the fact that it will contribute to improving communication between representatives of America and Italy.
