In this work, we aim to examine the inseparable relation between culture and language in the context of modern media. The choice of the topic is stemmed from the fact that nowadays media is seen as a social system that plays a significant role in everybody’s life and creates a person’s sense of reality. People are exposed to information about the world by media texts, that actively promote cultural values. Thus, it is important to analyze to what extent modern media is responsible for the change of culture and society. Here in this study, we seek to illustrate how mass communication reinforces cultural values and norms and how they are encoded in the language of media. The present research applied Content Analysis to examine media language use as a form of social practice directed at promoting cultural values and affecting people’s perception of their county. Keywords: mass media, culture, cultural values, language, American culture, content analysis.
