This paper examines the issue of digital transformation in museums. Today, museums are faced with the need to implement digital technologies to maintain relevance among visitors. Many of them, due to the lack of the necessary resources, are focused on short-term goals and try to implement particular technologies without a broad vision of digitalization. Nevertheless, digital transformation requires a complete restructuring of the museum infrastructure and takes several years. However, there are no frameworks of digital transformation and the development of a digital strategy in the field of culture. Therefore, museums and other cultural institutions that are interested in this topic are forced to independently develop digital strategies. This work is dedicated to the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts – one of the museum leaders in the field of information technology. Today, the museum needs a program of activities to implement the digital development strategy. The strategy defines the future areas of digitalization for the museum, but there are no concrete steps to implement these initiatives and therefore start the process of digital transformation. The work consists of three parts. The first one explores the concept of digital transformation and approaches to its implementation. It analyzes the world experience of museums in the field of digital technology and the development of digital strategies. The second part is devoted to the study of the current activities of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in the field of information technology, as well as a detailed analysis of the directions within the digital development strategy of the museum, based on the interviews with employees of the Department of Information Technology. Based on the results of Part 1 and 2, the third part presents a program of activities for the implementation of the strategy. For each direction, the AS IS and TO BE states are analyzed, a list of activities with deadlines is provided, and the required budget is indicated. Also, based on the program of events, a roadmap for the digital development of the museum is designed. After additional approval, the proposed program of events will be included in the work of the museum.
