Comparative Analysis of Public Discourse of Spanish and Russian Football Coaches

The investigation deals with studies of public discourse in the sphere of sports. The premise of cross-cultural communication in the public discourse is considered to be the issue of high importance today. The present research focuses on the interviews and press-conferences of the football coaches from Russia and Spain and examines their answers to some provocative questions or questions which cause some emotions from the respondents. The general purpose of this project is to reveal the differences of the answers which are based on the cultural differences of the coaches. The method utilised to attain this aim is the comparative analysis of the source texts. It is possible that this research can develop effective techniques of conveying the message through analysis of public discourse. Moreover, it can be used to study various public sports discourse in the interaction of representatives of different national teams.
