The relevance of the topic of the dissertation is due to the fact that parent-child relationships have a rather significant impact on the development of personality, and the results of this influence on a person can be observed even in adulthood. Research objective: to determine the relationship between the locus of control and parental prescriptions. In accordance with the goal, the following research tasks were set: analysis of psychological works containing ideas about the responsibility of the individual, the locus of control, transactional-analytical ideas about parental prescriptions; empirical study of the relationship between indicators of the level of subjective control and parental prescriptions; analysis of the empirical base, generalization of research results. Research methods: theoretical analysis, empirical research based on two survey methods: "Prescription Scale" by P. Drego; “The level of subjective control” by J. Rotter, correlation and regression analysis using the tools of mathematical statistics. A significant scientific result in the theoretical study was the correlation of parental orders and the level of subjective control of the individual, which showed that parental orders can be viewed as contaminations that interfere with the autonomy and freedom of a mature person to make informed decisions in vital areas. At the same time, responsibility acts as one of the characteristics of a mature personality, and the locus of control is the attribution of responsibility, a mechanism for its implementation in various spheres of life. Although twelve major parental prescriptions were identified, more than 12 relationships were found between prescriptions and locus of control. The found connections and confirmed hypotheses are consistent with the results of already existing theoretical and empirical studies, according to which the influence of parents on a child's adult life is multifaceted. The practical significance of the study lies in the replenishment of empirical data that can be included in the scientific base of the study of responsibility in adults, as well as in the replenishment of data for the diagnosis of clients, carried out in the framework of psychotherapeutic, coaching, and training work. Key words: parental prescriptions, transactional analysis, locus of control, personal subjective control, attribution of responsibility.
