Our research includes quantitative study of self-relation in dependent interpersonal relationships. The general hypothesis of the study is confirmed - the self-relation of a person who tends to be dependent in relationships is characterized by a positive relationship with internal conflict and a negative relationship with existential fulfillment. Predictors of dependence in interpersonal relationships are revealed. The strongest predictors are internal conflict (positive) and personal existential fulfillment (negative). Low existential fulfillment, a harsh and critical, conflicted self-relation can lead to a tendency to enter into dependent interpersonal relationships. The results of the quantitative analysis were illustrated by phenomenological analysis of one interview. The perspective of the research is discussed – the extension of the phenomenological research to clarify the obtained results of quantitative analysis.
