From the first minutes of life, a person begins his development - arriving in an inextricable connection with society and with his inner beginning, he is in a constant process of various changes. The relevance of the research is connected with the fact that at present in all spheres of people's life (professional, social, personal and others), personal development is an important component and catalyst for success and improvement of the standard of living in general. Accordingly, in the practice of psychological counseling, the client's personal development becomes an important element and direction of work. Personal development is a diverse and complex phenomenon that is difficult to study in practice. At the moment, there is no psychological diagnosis of personal development. In this regard, in this work, a qualitative study of the psychological constituents of the experience of personal development was carried out using the descriptive phenomenological method of A. Giorgi. The research question was what structure can be distinguished in the experience of personal development. The analysis of the obtained observations made it possible to compose the structure of the experience of personal development and to develop a method for studying the experience of personal development "Questionnaire on the subjective experience of personal development" (ASPLR). In our study, it was also found that a person may have difficulty verbalizing the experience of personal development. In accordance with this, we find the following practical possibilities for the application of this method: application in practice of psychological counseling and group methods of work on demand related to personal development, application in practice of the educational process in higher educational institutions (to observe the experience of students' personal development).
