Russian Employees of German International Companies: Problems of Intercultural Communication in the Work Place

The research is devoted to the study of problems of cross-cultural communication, arising in the workplace between Russian and German employees within German international companies. The keywords are: cross-cultural communication, Russian and German employees, international companies. In connection with the accelerated development of humanity, namely, the exit of business beyond its national culture, many questions arise during the integration with people to conduct a common business. The ability to accept the peculiarities of each representative of an other culture, finding a "common language" and observing certain norms for more comfortable cooperation, will lead to finding mutual understanding between all employees of the business environment, which further help to unite all employees and make the "mechanism" work more smoothly, getting the most successful outfit. Today, more and more German companies are gaining the trust of representatives of Russian culture, developing their business with them both in Russia and in Germany. However, most Russian employees , due to a different mentality, may face the problems of interaction in the workplace with German employees and employers. That is why it is necessary to identify all the main problems associated with the socio-cultural characteristics of each nationality and help Russian employees avoid difficulties in the process of communication in the business community. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to use a comparative analysis method to identify the cultural characteristics of each country. For a more successful result, after reviewing the verbal and non-verbal communication on both sides, it is necessary to give recommendations to Russian employees for a more successful integration into German society. Referring to the hypotheses about the expected results of the study, it is assumed that the topic raised is more deeply studied in English-speaking cultures, and less thoroughly considered in Russian-speaking and German-speaking cultures. The thesis includes an introduction, three chapters,, a final conclusion and a list of references.
