Development of the VTB Bank's Sustainable Development Strategy

The popularity and relevance of implementing sustainable development strategies and practices, as well as the implementation of ESG standards in business models, including by banking organizations, is growing rapidly. In Russia, this topic is at the initial stage of development and many leading companies do not yet have their own strategies in this interdisciplinary field. The purpose of this work is to develop a strategy for the sustainable development of VTB Bank. The paper provides an overview of the main theoretical aspects of sustainable development, as well as the history of subject area. Also, the best world practices among banking organizations were identified and described, with which a comparative analysis of VTB Bank was subsequently conducted in the second chapter and the key points of the gap in the field of sustainable development were determined. The result of the work is the strategy for sustainable development of VTB Bank which includes a list of initiatives grouped by strategic priorities for sustainable development in environmental, social and governance areas. With fixed deadlines for the implementation of initiatives and targets for the implementation of the strategy.
