Student: Bespalova Mariya

Educational Programme: Business Strategies: Management and Consulting (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2021

Business ecosystems are actively developing in the modern world. 6 out of 10 companies in the ranking of the largest companies by market capitalization in the world are business ecosystems. Business ecosystems are developing in Russia too, such large companies as Sberbank, Yandex, Mail.ru Group, Tinkoff, MTS are also actively building business ecosystems in the Russian market. A BCG Henderson Institute study found that less than 15% of the 57 business ecosystems surveyed are successful in the long term. Therefore, the question arises of how to prematurely identify the causes leading to failure in business ecosystems. Therefore, the goal of this work is to develop a methodology for analyzing business ecosystems that allows identifying problem areas in business ecosystems at the early stages of the life cycle. The concept of the business ecosystem analysis methodology is based on defining the phases of the business ecosystem life cycle and on understanding the goals and needs of the business ecosystem at each of these phases.
