Digitalization has changed the strategies of many organizations. Now they are based on a data-driven approach. Banks have a huge advantage over other companies that are building their strategy on this approach. On the basis of transactions, banks know literally everything about their customers. Previously, this information was mainly used for credit scoring. Now, large banks, realizing how much information they own, decided not to dwell only on the financial aspect of a client's life. So in the second half of the 10s, the first ecosystems began to appear in Russia, and now, at strategic sessions, banks and big tech companies devote most of their presentation to plans for the development of their ecosystem. Sber as a leading bank in the Russian Federation and one of the first companies adopted digital platform as a strategy has a great chance of becoming the main or one of the main ecosystems in Russia, with the right approach to the development of its existing ecosystem. However, the business ecosystem must be built organically and neatly. The main goal of my final paper is to explore Sber's experience in building and developing an ecosystem, as well as create recommendations for the further development of the ecosystem. This paper uses the single exploratory case study method deriving knowledge from the Sber ecosystem. The case study examines Russian and world examples of banking ecosystems, and also studies the patterns that a bank should adhere to in order to create a solid ecosystem. The work also explores how Sber went from Sberbank and Sberkassa and at what level is the bank's ecosystem now. Based on acquired information this study analyses strengths and weaknesses of the current Sber’s ecosystem and provides recommendations for its future development.
