Year of Graduation: 2021

Problem Statement. The purpose of this research is to develop a pipeline, which will be used to evaluate the qualities of the team's players according to the specified criteria, based on which potential candidates for strengthening the squad will be identified. In this case, for each candidate the price range will be calculated and the level of value of the candidate for the club will be determined. The object of the research is the transfer value of football players. The hypothesis is that an algorithm trained on a large amount of data will improve the accuracy in estimating player's value compared to a management-based approach. Professional Significance. To solve this problem, a new methodology for evaluating a football player was developed, which includes the list of all key indicators. The study presents a sequential pipeline construction process: 1) definition of metrics for each football role. 2) collection and preparation of data for mathematical models or artificial intelligence algorithms. 3) construction and training of algorithms on which the metrics will be calculated. 4) calculation of the transfer value of players based on data obtained. This pipeline can form the basis of the decision-making system of football clubs during transfer windows.
