In this work, an attempt is made to investigate the practice of reclaiming summerfolk space in Soviet times through the prism of feature films. By combining socio-historical analysis and interpretation of film, this research allows us to study changes in the representation of dacha culture. Dacha space has usually been studied in three theoretical areas: sociology of everyday life, sociology of culture and architecture. Authors often use methods of analysis of fiction or memoirs. In this work, the focus becomes the analysis of the cinematic text, the visual source that sits in the background of the verbal sources. I build the image of everyday space through the prism of feature films. The first part of the diploma work describes the theoretical literature related to space and analysis through the film interpretation. The second chapter provides a review of the literature on the formation of dacha culture in the USSR. In the final chapter, an attempt is made to compare the ways in which summerfolk space is represented in films shot in periods of Soviet era.
