The Curator’s Role in the Exhibition Space: History and Modernity

This study examines the place of the curator in the space of an art exhibition. It focuses on the exhibition as a historically evolving form of cultural organisation. We consider the genesis of exhibition space from the temple space and the development of familiar forms of exhibition space in the new time. Finally, we define the role of the curatorial figure in contemporary culture.
