This research paper examines the changes in women's roles, living conditions and forms of family adaptation in the absence of the main breadwinner due to labor migration in the Russian Federation. The United Nations in Tajikistan annually conducts research related to various aspects of life, in particular; domestic violence, migration, protection of the rights and obligations of citizens in Tajikistan. These aspects of life in Tajikistan are particularly often raised for discussions and disturbing to society. The research is aimed at studying the opinions of female respondents, namely migrant wives, regarding relations with their husband's relatives and further communication within the family and behavioral practices in the absence of the main breadwinner. The study identified the main differences between urban and rural respondents, that is, which ways certain groups of people use based on the traditions and laws adopted by society. In addition, an integral part of this study is to identify the individual character of migrants in relation to families and the transformation of roles within the family.
