Parental involvement in a child’s education is widely accepted to be the predictor of a child’s academic success and is believed to vary in accordance with the sociodemographic characteristics of the family. Most of the studies related to parental involvement include only the practical aspect of it, not taking into account the parental values that are transmitted through these practices. The current study was aimed at the exploration of the relationship between parental involvement practices and parental values. A mixed method was applied to this research. The statistical tests were carried out and regression models were built using the data collected by the Laboratory of Sociology in Education and Science, and the analysis was carried out on the interviews collected by the team of me and colleagues from my study group. The results revealed a clear connection of two types of involvement practices (school and extracurricular) and parental values (conformity and self-direction).
