In the XX century humanity has experienced the technical and cultural phenomenons previously unseen, as the countries all around the world started gradually developing the international institutions with the aim to make Earth a more peaceful place. Of course, international relations have always existed, but after the two world wars the international legal acts have reached a recognition they have never experienced before. In one way or another, international legislation influences not only the law, but also the life of any member of a modern society. It is relevant for human rights, for health legislation, for education and many more spheres of law. And of course the international legal acts have influenced the main reason they were created in the first place, which is global peace around the world. But peace can not always exist by itself and in some cases it needs to be enforced by a neutral third party. Thus, this research provides analysis of the current international legislation which regulates the activity of the one of the most important and unique instruments the United Nations have for securing peace around the world — the UN peacekeeping.
