This graduate qualification work is devoted to the development of the institute of project managers on the basis of a competency model in a company of an industrial type. The relevance of the work lies in the importance of creating an institute of project managers for the project activities of the company. Successful project implementation depends on project managers, e. g. their competencies affect the work of a project team. Without certain competencies it is difficult for a project manager to achieve a goal of the project. In this paper, a competency model for R&D project managers was built, based on which a conceptual model of the project managers institute was developed. After analyzing data, recommendations for further development of the institute of project managers, as well as recommendations for improving their competencies were proposed.
