There is currently a growing interest in the auto-aggressive behavior. However, there is a knowledge gap regarding this phenomenon, which is manifested in data contradiction and leads to absence of a complete picture. For example, researchers still do not know the role the locus of control plays in the auto-aggressive process. The general aim of the paper follows logically from the previous results which presented a significant relation between the auto-aggressive tendency and the «acceptance of responsibility» coping strategy which may indicate the presence of a locus of control role. The questionnaire "Auto- and hetero-aggression" (Ilyin, 2013), Test of life-meaning orientations (Leontiev, 2000), The anxiety scale (Khanin, 1976) and Coping strategies questionnaire by Lazarus (Vasserman et al., 2008) have been used in this study. Auto-aggressive behavior is expected to be associated to some extent with the internal locus of control. This research is expected to expand the theoretical knowledge base, as well as provide an opportunity to create a new psychotherapeutic system for working with auto-aggressive behavior. As a result, no direct links between autoaggression and the locus of control were found, however, many indirect ones were found, which may indicate the presence of a complex model. Keywords: auto-aggressive behavior, auto-aggression, locus of control, coping strategies
