Many human activities affect our environment and tourism through hotels and hotels is no exception. Today, sustainable development is at the center of all debate. This final qualification work is devoted to the problems of sustainable development in the hotel industry and project management of necessary changes. The term “sustainable development” is increasingly used in many areas, but its concept, although widespread, still causes difficulties in applying its principles in practice. The purpose of this study was to analyze the current state of the concept of sustainable development in the hospitality industry, as well as to study the views of this concept from the side of managers and clients in order to economically justify the importance of applying this concept, in order to ultimately develop recommendations for integrating the principles of sustainable development into the corporate management strategy of the hotel. For this, a theoretical analysis of studies and reports on the sustainable practices of leading companies in the hospitality industry was carried out - they were Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, and Intercontinental Hotels Group in order to assess the current level of sustainable development in the hotel industry. Qualitative and quantitative research was carried out on the basis of the data obtained from the first and second chapters. Quantitative and qualitative research in the third part of the work helped to understand the attitude to sustainable development in the hotel industry from two perspectives: from the position of managers and managers of the hotel complexes themselves, as well as from ordinary customers. Six executives/managers of Moscow hotel complexes took part in the interview, and 200 respondents took part in the customer survey. Based on these analyzes, conclusions were drawn regarding the further development of this topic, and recommendations were made for the management of hotel complexes, taking into account the needs and characteristics of each of the parties. 2 guides were formed, which are aimed at helping enterprises in organizing their business model, taking into account these concepts (SD and CSR). In general, the guides are aimed at both the introduction of best practices and the creation of a hotel environmental management system. In general, this project can be useful for small, medium, and large enterprises in the hotel sector, whose areas of interest include the implementation of SD and CSR concepts, as well as for future researchers in these areas in the hospitality industry.
