Self-care plays an important role for a person and is realized throughout the entire life cycle. This topic has been studied since the III century BC. However, there is still no single definition. The lack of a unified conceptualization complicates the research process. The overall objective of this study is to develop a methodology for assessing self-care and to scrutinize the impact of personality traits on self-care. The use of quantitative methods is a well-established approach to validating questionnaires and exploring the relationship between phenomena. As a result of research, the self-care approach has been shown to be an internally consistent and valid way to measure self-care behavior. The results obtained are intended to demonstrate the possibilities of using the technique and the vectors of its development. This will help improve the understanding and development of self-care for both the individual and society as a whole. Key words: self-care, personal traits, authorship, well-being, quantitative methods, measurement methods.
