Experiencing a Period of Constrained Self-Isolation by Older Adolescents

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic began, resulting in restrictive measures, including the recommendation to observe self-isolation. This paper investigated the phenomenon of self-isolation experienced by older adolescents. The purpose of the work was to describe the components of this phenomenon and to determine the emotions experienced during self-isolation. To achieve the goal, 10 interviews were conducted with adolescents aged 15-17 years, and the empirical data obtained were subjected to thematic analysis. As a result, invariant and private components of the experience of self-isolation were distinguished, the changes that occurred due to self-isolation were determined.
