The value of solitude for creative people has been demonstrated and recognized in numerous contemporary studies. However, the precise role of this need in their lives has to be explored. The central question in this research asks how the need for solitude is represented in the creative individual’s life. Data for the study is collected using in-depth semi-structured interview and processed using phenomenological analysis of interview texts. It is expected that in most of cases the participants will report about the importance of solitude for them and about its noticeable influence on the creative process. The findings of this investigation complement those of earlier studies.
