Object-location binding is a relatively new field of study. The visual system extracts information about the object's features and its location, connects these components, and provides a whole representation of the object and its bound location. However, all factors that can influence this process have not been studied. The familiarity factor of the object can play a critical role in object-location binding as it has been found to have an impact on memory consolidation and performance (Starr et al., 2020; Xie & Zhang, 2018). This study aims to identify the influence of the familiarity factor on object-location binding in visual working memory. To measure the effect of influence, we used the object recognition task and the object location task. As a result of the analysis, we concluded that the familiarity factor affects the memorization process in visual working memory. It has also been found that the meaningfulness of information affects information retention and object-location binding.
