Reorganization of Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's Distribution Network with Application of Simulation Tools

This thesis is dedicated to improving the distribution network of MSD Pharmaceuticals LLC, taking into account the new sales channel. The aim of this work is to improve the distribution network of the focus company to take into account the requirements of the new sales channel using simulation technology. The objectives of this study include analyzing the market situation in order to identify alternative sales channels, understand the existing practices and requirements of market players for logistics services; studying of the current configuration of the distribution network, impeding the work with alternative distribution channels; as well as the development and evaluation of various options for changing the distribution network using the AnyLogistix software toolkit in order to enter a new distribution channel and increase the financial results of the company. This thesis resulted in the forming of recommendations for reorganizing the distribution network of a pharmaceutical manufacturer using the modeling tools in the AnyLogistix software.
