Nowadays the global market for personal development is showing steady growth. The most popular channel for informational products and personal growth trainings distribution is social media. A separate niche is occupied by online marathons, which are massively promoted through Instagram social network. The aim of the work was to study the experience of participation in one of the most popular author's online marathons in the CIS, "Marathon of Desires" by Elena Blinovskaya, using the psychoanalytic method of Social Dreams Drawing. In the theoretical part, psychological and psychoanalytic aspects of personal characteristics and behaviors in social networks were considered. In the practical part, the key aspects of the method (SDD) were studied; two group sessions conducted by the SDD method were extensively described; analysis and discussion of the group work performed. As a result of the study, the key reasons motivating to participate in the marathon were identified, the narcissistic component of the experience was noted. The hypothesis about the ambivalence of marathon experience despite numerous of positive feedbacks was confirmed as well as resistance and latent aggression presence in the experience while passing the marathon. The hypothesis that the SDD method is valuable for studying the experience of personal transformation and has a therapeutic and coaching effect has also been confirmed.
