This paper examines the assessment of the impact of various attributes on the dynamics of national stock indices and the position of national exchange centers in the international rating Global Financial Centers Index. The attributes that determine the power of the state are divided into economic and symbolic by their nature. Regression analysis is carried out on data for 23 countries for the period 2011-2019. The results indicate that certain sets of factors of symbolic and economic capitals do have a significant effect on the dependent variables under consideration. The conclusions obtained in the course of this study can be used by public authorities to identify the most important components affecting the growth and development of the stock market and determine the key steps in the implementation of policies for the development of the country's stock market.
