Quantum control theory is a rapidly developing branch of science with many possible applications in other fields such including, but not limited to, physics, chemistry and computer science. Taking this into account, we need to explore new approaches to quantum system control. This project considers incoherent approach to the control of a two-level quantum system. The goals of this project include the development of a mathematical model of optimal qubit control in presence of interference and noise from the environment, numerical research of the developed model and the analysis of the results. During the work on the project we have researched the modelling methods of the quantum systems and their evolution in time with the Linblad Master equation, we have also analysed the methods for solving the emerging two-point problem. Python scripts for the numerical solution of the problem as well as scripts for its visualisation have been developed.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
