Crowdfunding as a Promising Tool for Implementing Infrastructure Projects in Russia

Modern society is characterized by the development of the new technologies that are rapidly being introduced into social practices. In the world, there are more and more examples of practices, which are based on communication in the information and telecommunications network Internet using the latest technological developments. One of the special position among these technologies is occupied by crowdfunding – a specialized platform for collective financing of projects which is basis on the voluntary donation from the population (individuals). In order to study in detail the issue of the possibility of financing infrastructure projects through crowdfunding in Russia, the article analyzes the opinions of the parties (individuals and private investors) in their interest in participating in crowdfunding. By analyzing the indicators of the dynamics of crowdfunding in the world practice and empirical research, their main motives and behavioral characteristics were identified , the characteristics of involvement in the practice of collective Internet financing and the industry orientation of potentially implemented infrastructure projects were determined. To integrate the studied practice into the national economy of Russian Federation, the paper proposes measures of state regulation to improve the principle of crowdfunding, provides a mechanism for interaction between participants in the crowdfunding market, identifies possible risks and recommendations for their elimination.
