BLASTER BLOCKBUSTER: Implementation of the Startup

Student: Kuzmin Kirill

Supervisor: Sergey Melchenko

Faculty: St.Petersburg School of Economics and Management

Educational Programme: Economics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

This work is devoted to consulting events for my own business project - Blaster Blockbuster. Blaster Blockbuster is a commercial children's play center that provides services for organizing children's parties using toy weapons - NERF blasters. The relevance of the work is associated with 3 main factors that do not allow starting the project implementation later: • An abnormal increase in the number of orders in the children's entertainment market is expected in the fall of 2021; • Estimated decrease in the growth rate of the project with further activities in a state of flow, associated with the limitations of the current level of the organization; • Risk of legal restrictions imposed by the owner of the brand NERF, the children's toys company Hasbro, and attempts by this corporation to implement the business model under consideration. The methods of business planning were applied in the work: market analysis, preparation of a marketing and production plan, preparation of a financial model with further calculation of a financial plan, as well as formation of an implementation schedule and work on assessing project risks. Various analysis tools were applied: PESTEL, SWOT, Monte Carlo method and scenario analysis, building a map of strategic groupings. The data sources are market data obtained in the reports of consulting companies, the Hasbro financial report, government statistics and data obtained during the project's operation over 2.5 years are used. Additional data was generated by generation using MS Excel tools. The result of the work was the formation of a comprehensive business plan, ready for further application, as well as an assessment of the effectiveness of the project and the possibility of achieving the set goals during its implementation.
