In the modern world, where every process gets faster every day, the need for a quick way to get a gist of any text is growing. Automatic text summarization is the solution. In this paper we outline various methods and approaches towards the text summarization as well as applying these methods to the practical task of summarizing meeting minutes. The paper also contains analysis of different types of summarization and the review of existing research in the relevant topics.
