Structure of the Russian Legal System: A Network Analysis Approach

In this paper we attempt to uncover the structure of the Russian legal system using the tools of network analysis. The questions discussed include: topological structure and connectivity of the reference network of Russian legislative acts, its stability, evolution and adaptability; the identification of the most significant acts; the possibility of identifying branches and institutions of law on the basis of patterns and regularities of the network structure.
