The Accompanying Gesticulation for Discourse Markers of Negation and Agreement

This paper is the study of the accompanying gesticulation for the discourse markers of agreement (YES) and negation (NO). The research involves the study of the theoretical basis for the issue under this study, collecting of video material from the Multimedian Corpus of Russian Language. All collected videos were processed (cut, subtitles added) and marked up. We found correlation between gestures and semantic subclasses of agreement, and compared the accompanying gestures of YES and NO. We will upload collected and processed video material to the database of discourse markers "Pragmaticon", which is an free resource for linguists and foreign students studying Russian.
