Abstract The period of completion of education by senior schoolchildren presents a particular psychological difficulty for students, since this is the time of the first adult test: it shows how ready graduates are for adult life, and the extent to which their aspirations match their capabilities. The situation of modern schoolchildren is complicated by the need to pass the Unified State Exam. In the modern scientific literature, the problem of psychological readiness has been studied well, however, although the problem has been identified, there are no recommendations for its solution. That is why the problem of this study is the need to develop an effective program of psychological preparation for the Unified State Exam, which can subsequently be introduced into the work of schools and educational organizations preparing for the exam. The object of the study is the senior schoolchildren's psychological difficulties associated with preparing for the Exam. The hypothesis of this study is the assumption that “working through” the psychological difficulties of schoolchildren before passing the Exam using the developed action program will increase the level of psychological readiness for exams, and reduce the level of anxiety. We also assume that this will have a positive effect on the success of the exam, increasing the mark. In accordance with this, the purpose of the study is to elaborate and test in practice a program for the development of psychological readiness for the exam. The practical significance of this study lies in the possibility of applying the developed program in educational institutions involved in preparing for the exam, which allows to increase graduation scores.
