The object of this research is theft committed through the Internet, as well as the proving in criminal cases of such thefts. The subjects of the research arte the types, forms of such thefts and methods of hiding their traces, as well as conducting preliminary investigations, collecting evidence in criminal cases of such crimes. This research aims to develop methods to improve the effectiveness of the fight against thefts committed through the Internet. To achieve this goal, the research solves following tasks: 1) to identify the types of thefts committed through the Global Network, as well as their forms and methods of hiding their traces, which are the most common at present; 2) to study the problematic moments arising in the process of proving in such cases; 3) to identify methods for solving the problems of the law enforcement system that negatively affect the effectiveness of the fight against thefts committed through the Internet. Scientific developments in this area are noticeably outdated every year due to the constant improvement of both information technologies used by criminals and the methods of implementing and concealing traces of thefts committed through the Global Network. The current study offers the most modern methods of investigating crimes in criminal cases.
