Academic Сommunity's Role and Functions with Regard to Science Popularisation in Contemporary Russian Media Landscape

The subject of the thesis is “Academic Community’s Role and Functions with Regard to Science Popularization in Contemporary Russian Media Landscape”. The main aim of the study is to evaluate science popularizers’ impact on individuals’ opinion, science popularizers’ personal brand and the level of the individual’s involvement into the process of science popularization. The object of the study is the popularization of science in the media sphere. The given bachelor’s thesis comprises three chapters, list of references and appendices. The study is structured in the following way: the introductory part defines the actuality of the work, formulates the problem, object, subject, aim, tasks and methods of the study. The first chapter considers the popularization of science in the Russian media. The second chapter is devoted to the role of the academic community in the popularization of science in the Russian media. The third chapter focuses on the results of the empirical study. The empirical part of the study is based on an online survey.
